Privacy Policy

1. Our Privacy Philosophy

AuraClear processes media pixels in your browser. We do not operate a media-processing service, upload files to AuraClear, or collect telemetry. Automatic and context-menu cleaning may retrieve the generated asset you requested from Gemini or Google-hosted asset domains.

2. Collection and Use of Data

Local Pixel Processing: Files selected in the popup are decoded and processed in browser memory. For automatic or context-menu cleaning, AuraClear may fetch the user-requested generated asset from Gemini or a permitted Google-hosted asset URL, then processes it locally. AuraClear does not send the media to an AuraClear-operated server or third-party processing API.

No Telemetry or Analytics: AuraClear does not track installation count, features clicked, errors encountered, or any other telemetry. We collect zero analytics.

3. Permissions Explained

AuraClear requests only the minimal browser permissions necessary to perform its functions:

  • storage: Used to remember your local preference configurations (e.g., your preferred export format choice) and keep track of your local processed count on your local machine.
  • contextMenus: Used to add a "Remove watermark & save" option to the right-click context menu on images on Gemini. No data leaves your machine as a result of this permission.
  • downloads: Temporarily observes filename, tab ID, and progress/completion metadata for new downloads to match an AuraClear-initiated save and show local feedback. AuraClear never reads downloaded file contents or moves, pauses, or cancels downloads.
  • Host Permissions (gemini.google.com): Required to run the content scripts that observe compatible Gemini download and context-menu flows.
  • Host Permissions (*.googleusercontent.com): Required as a fallback to bypass CORS blocks when retrieving preview images for cleaning.

4. Third-Party Websites

The extension injects features into the Google Gemini website. This Privacy Policy only covers the AuraClear extension. Any interaction you have on Google Gemini or other Google sites is subject to Google's terms and privacy policies.

5. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be updated directly on this page and shipped with the corresponding extension release version. We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
