1. Our Privacy Philosophy

AuraClear was built from the ground up to respect your privacy. Because AuraClear is a local browser utility, all operations are executed on-device. We do not use servers to process images, and we do not collect telemetry of any kind. Your data never leaves your machine.

2. Collection and Use of Data

No Image Transmission: When you drag and drop an image into the popup, or clean an image on Gemini using the content script clean button, the image pixels are decoded and manipulated in your browser's memory using standard HTML5 Canvas APIs. At no point are the image bytes sent to any external server or API.

No Telemetry or Analytics: AuraClear does not track installation count, features clicked, errors encountered, or any other telemetry. We collect zero analytics.

3. Permissions Explained

AuraClear requests only the minimal browser permissions necessary to perform its functions:

  • storage: Used to remember your local preference configurations (e.g., your preferred export format choice) and keep track of your local processed count on your local machine.
  • contextMenus: Used to add a "Remove watermark & save" option to the right-click context menu on images on Gemini. No data leaves your machine as a result of this permission.
  • Host Permissions (gemini.google.com): Required to inject the content scripts that place the native "✦" clean button in the Gemini user interface.
  • Host Permissions (*.googleusercontent.com): Required as a fallback to bypass CORS blocks when retrieving preview images for cleaning.

4. Third-Party Websites

The extension injects features into the Google Gemini website. This Privacy Policy only covers the AuraClear extension. Any interaction you have on Google Gemini or other Google sites is subject to Google's terms and privacy policies.

5. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be updated directly on this page and shipped with the corresponding extension release version. We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
